Sustainability
From our individual actions to our long term management goals, sustainability is important to us at Contech Specialist Building Products. We encourage waste recycling in our office, canteen areas and warehouse. Our packaging materials are re-used where appropriate and we optimise our shipping activities both international and domestic. Solar panels have been installed on our warehouse roof which fulfill our energy requirements including charging our electric vehicles.
Construction in harmony with nature
We aim to provide solutions for energy efficient construction but not at the expense of nature.
We continue to source effective solutions that improve the fabric & therefore longevity of our buildings.
In addition to the importance that we place on our practices towards a sustainable business operation, we also consider how our suppliers perform in this area. For example, Schöck whose core products are focused around a reduction in energy consumption, have implemented a sustainability strategy with goals based on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Krampe Harex who manufacture our steel fibres, also take very seriously the environmental impact of their production processes. They provide us with an annual certificate of CO2 savings based on the weight of fibres we have purchased during that year. These energy savings are realised through a combination of steps not limited to: use of recycled raw materials, low-emission logistics, energy production and consumption etc.
Many of the individual products that we provide have Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) that outline the environmental impact of the product throughout its lifecycle.
